About

The dynamic is from Dynamic HTML.

I'm Dave Jonker, web developer at ipsis in Hoorn. My colleagues gave me the nickname when DHTML was the exciting new thing, and I've been building with Umbraco since version 6.

The cartoon version. The real one is usually behind a screen.

Why this blog

I started DynamicDave to give something back to the Umbraco community. Most of what I know about Umbraco I learned from other people's blog posts, forum answers and Codegarden talks. This is my side of that deal.

I write for two kinds of readers. Developers who want the code and the reasoning behind it, and the marketeers and managers I work with, who want to know what a new release means for them.

Since version 6

Fourteen major versions, one CMS. From my first Umbraco site to today.

Off-screen

When I'm not in the backoffice, I practise Pencak Silat which teaches patience, which turns out to be useful for upgrades too. And I'm also a volunteer for Tjommie.
